This is a very rare and highly sought after example of this coin. The intricate design work on the Bird of Paradise is truly magnificent.

In 1889 the German Reich moved to take over what is known today as Papua New Guinea. Under the management of the German New Guinea’s Company, Imperial Reserve in Oceania. The actual area sought under the control of the German Reich also included apart from German Samoa, all territories located in what was referred to as the South Pacific German Colonies.

The coin has some very light marks and scratches but the rim and the overall quality is extremely good for a coin that is more than 120 years old.

Investors and collectors alike should look very carefully as examples of this quality are quite hard to come by.

Please feel free to email with any questions. PCGS certification is available at cost.
