These two notes are in great condition as per the pictures here.

The 20 and 50 Heller notes are a currency denomination that is equal to half a pfennig.

This is akin to the half pence issued in British territories.

The bank notes depict local scenes and the bird life indigenous to the lakes of the national park that surrounds the area of Sternberg.

History

Sternberg is situated in the north of Germany just to the south west of Rostock near the Warnow River.

It is a very small village of around 4,500 inhabitants which was first recognized as a town under German law in 1248.

One of its best known tourist draws is the Sternberg Seenland which is a nature park with around 100 lakes and several rivers. It is a haven for people looking to go paddling in the Summer months and also to tour on their bicycles or go hiking.

it is a very scenic region and boasts a great deal of wildlife including the Seeadler or Sea Eagles that nest in the region.

The old town of Sternberg and city walls have also been faithfully restored to their former historic beauty and include the Freilicht museum with archeological treasures.
