Minted as a celebration of the highly auspicious “Year of the Dragon”, this 1/2 oz 50 cents silver proof coloured coin from the Australian Lunar Silver Coins Series II are a limited offering from award winning Perth Mint.   This is the small version of the popular one ounce series. It offers the same fantastic design but at a far smaller price than the full one ounce coin.

The coin’s reverse depicts a red dragon with a representation of a ‘pearl of wisdom’.  The colour red represents success, good luck and prosperity which is one reason this coin was so popular.

The coin comes in the full presentation box which is the same style as the larger version and with a certifcate of authenticity.

The strike run was limited to 10,000 coins for both the half and one ounce coins. They were sold out extremely quickly.
