As we all know, Mickey Mouse is one of the most famous cartoon characters in the world. The distinctive white gloves, high pitched voice and over sized shoes are images ingrained in people the world over. His debut appearance was in the film ‘Steamboat Willie’ in 1928. Walt Disney himself did the original voice for Mickey from 1928 until 1946 until studio work pressure became to much as his magic kingdom grew. Since then, only four other people have gone on to voice Mickey: first Jim MacDonald, followed by Wayne Allwine, and currently by both Bret Iwan and Chris Diamantopoulos. Mickey has had a formidable career appearing in more than 120 cartoons. He ranks second only to Donald Duck in this regard. Most notably he was the first animated character to be awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He was given his star in 1978 to celebrate his 50th anniversary.
