1977 Australian Taxtralia Dollar Note

This was an original protest note handed out in central Sydney during the late 1970's protesting the rise in taxation being levied by the then Liberal Government.

The Prime Minister Bob Hawke defeated Malcolm Fraser who was reknown for his tax razor gangs and whittling back the edges on student, old age and unemployed benefits.

It is a serious part of the late 70' s that along with birth of punk and new wave music helped to fuel a part of the basic anarchy mind set that was gripping the countries youth at that time.

Very collectible but still somewhat easier to find than a 70's dedicated Sex Pistols punk still wearing their safety pins.

John Malcolm Fraser AC, CH, GCL (/ˈfreɪzə/; born 21 May 1930) is a former Australian Liberal Party politician who was the 22nd Prime Minister of Australia. He came to power in 1975 through the dismissal of the Whitlam Labor government, in which he played a key role. After three election victories, he was defeated by Bob Hawke in the 1983 election and ended his career alienated from his own party.
