It was to commemorate the opening of the Parliament House in Canberra in 1927.

History

 From 1938 to 1963 the Australian Coat of Arms by George Kruger Gray was used.

There were in total 6 varites of Florin coins minted between 1910 and 1963 when decimalisation occured.

Additionally there were a further 4 commemorative florins issued in 1934-35, 1951 and 1954.
