This coin was minted in Stuttgart in 1876 and was struck at the time when the German Empire held rule.

The German Empire or Deutsches Kaiserreich as it was locally known was a long lived from 1871 till 1918 and was very wide with arms that branched well out of Europe as far as Africa, North East China, Samoa and New Guinea.

The coin is in great condition and would rate as almost uncirculated or extra fine plus.

If your looking to strengthen your collection of coins from this period of German numismatics then here is a great opportunity.

As a short note: 20 Pfennig coins from 1873 till 1877 contained 0.032 troy ounces silver .
